Anxiety is an unpleasant feeling state with unpleasant body sensations and is often associated with worry about future events.  When you are experiencing anxiety, your body reacts as if it is responding to a threat, even though there is no actual threat present.

Anxiety may be the result of past negative or traumatic experiences, or we can create anxiety by projecting future misfortunes in our mind.  Your mind can't tell the difference between something you vividly imagine and something that is happening right now.

Excessive anxiety reduces your daily activities and performance.  Some people experience anxiety as a fear of talking to or being with other people.  Others may find that they have to be perfect.  Physically anxiety may be experienced as bodily tension, breathing difficulties, shortness of breath, or abdominal distress.  These are only a few of the ways that anxiety may show up in your life.

There are many ways to end anxiety without the use of medication.  Many people think that to end the anxiety they need to overhaul their life.  They may believe that anxiety is a fact of life.   But you do not usually need to overhaul your life to get rid of the anxiety and stress.  You can learn the tools to shift your mindset so that your brain can change and you gain back control of your life.
