Know what you want. What are your values and what do you value in other people? Spend some time thinking about this and writing down your answers. Perhaps one of your values is honesty. Look at past and present relationships both with friends and romantic partners. Were they honest? Or did you just settle for someone because he liked you or he was available. This is the time for you to really be honest with yourself.
2. Be true to yourself and your values. When I have coached some women, they have wanted to skip this step because they thought it was irrelevant. But it is the foundation. Now that you’ve done the hard work of analyzing, it’s time to put it out there in the world. Go out and socialize and tell people that you are looking for someone who has these values.
3. Take care of yourself physically, mentally and emotionally. Get exercise. Keep your mind active. Build a support system if you don’t already have one.
4. Try a dating site. This has been one of the best ways for mature women to find a compatible partner. Be sure to include in your ad the values that you are searching for. This assumes a positive attitude that you will find what you are looking for.
5. When you meet different men, don’t be afraid to communicate your needs and boundaries.
